In Mom's Heels

A shoe obsessed mom's Weight Watchers Journey with Celiac Disease

I hate my guts

This weeks’ weigh in saw me down 7.5 lbs. In complete transparency, I haven’t weighed in for a couple of weeks and my body is rejecting itself.

I wasn’t feeling great Monday. People commented that I looked flushed. I left exercise class part way through because my stomach was in so much pain. I barely made it home and never made it to the washroom when the projectile vomiting hit. That was it for me for the rest of the night until Wednesday! I swear, my body was trying to vomit all my insides up. My body hated my its guts. Whatever that was, it’s now morphed into a sinus/chest cold. Today I finally feel a bit better.

I¬†know that my 7.5 lb loss won’t be as good as it sounds when I start keeping the food down. I FEEL awful since I haven’t been eating or working out. Tonight, I’ll go outside for a walk and then grab some weights for a light sessions to ease back in.

I cancelled my WW Membership last night. I’ll finish out the month I’ve paid for. Why did I cancel? Not sure the program was really helping. I wasn’t following it or tracking in the end. I’ll take my $67/mo and buy a new scale.

Wish me luck.

GoodBye 2013, Welcome 2014

New Years 2013. We had planned to have a gathering at our place again this year for the 3 families. Mom was in Alberta visiting my younger brother and his family. The in-laws were at their friends.

However, ALL our friends all got sick. ūüėź So, it was a quiet night, watching HGTV Canada Marathons, playing video games with the kids and snuggling on the couch waiting for the ball to drop. I got out the wine glasses and poured us all a glass of…pop. We watched the ball drop, toasted, hugged, kissed and – went to bed. I know. Party animals. Please, contain the jealousy!

New Years Day РI woke to feeling slightly under the weather. January 2 РI was downright ill. I went into work and had to call my colleague crying to come take over for me. My fever hit 103.3 sitting at work. I went to the doc later that day РI had the flu. I went home and slept for the next 3 days. the highest temp I registered on my thermometer was 105.6. I woke to use the loo and get ice water and tylenol. I have never been that sick for as long as I can remember! Phew. The cough lasted a couple more weeks, but I managed to get back into my training. We had hired a personal trainer after all.

2013 was¬†a mixed and emotional year, one I am glad to say ADIOS¬†to. I welcome 2014 – although I hope the flu on these first few days are the worst days of my year. This year I want happiness. I will take charge of my life and my¬†career, after all, opportunity doesn’t come knocking. Life is what you make of it, right?

Cheers and Happy New Year.
